Meet Uraume in Jujutsu Kaisen Manga: Friend or Foe?

Uraume, also known as The Frozen Star, is a character who often appears as a bad guy in Jujutsu Kaisen. They’re a curse user from a thousand years ago and work directly for Sukuna. They teamed up with Kenjaku to seal Satoru Gojo and bring Sukuna back to life.

Appearance:

Uraume has white hair that falls to their chin, with a dark plum pink line running across the back of their head. Their eyes are dark pink with long eyelashes. They typically wear a simple monk robe that’s dark blue on the outside and white on the inside. Uraume’s appearance is neither clearly male nor female, and they usually have a neutral expression when not fighting.

Personality:

Uraume typically maintains a calm and collected demeanor, with their most notable characteristic being their unwavering loyalty to Sukuna. Sukuna even acknowledges Uraume upon meeting them. Uraume can be quite ruthless in terms of behavior, especially when carrying out Sukuna’s orders. For instance, when instructed by Pseudo-Geto to spare the lives of certain sorcerers, Uraume disregards this and insists that only Yuji is necessary as a messenger. Additionally, Uraume tends to display a short temper, as evidenced by their interactions with Choso, whom they impatiently instruct to move out of the way. They also express visible annoyance towards Yuji when he intervenes to save Choso, questioning Yuji’s awareness of whose body he’s trying to protect.

Uraume’s irritation with Kenjaku is evident in several instances, where they openly express their annoyance and urge him to depart. They often criticize him for being too verbose. Moreover, Uraume’s loyalty to Sukuna is unwavering, and they react strongly to any disrespect towards him. This can escalate to hostility, as seen when they attempted to attack Satoru Gojo after he insulted Sukuna. Such actions demonstrate Uraume’s readiness to act recklessly in defense of their allegiance to Sukuna.

Abilities and Power:

Uraume possesses extensive jujutsu abilities honed over millennia, showcasing remarkable control over cursed energy. During the Shibuya Incident, they effortlessly subdued numerous powerful sorcerers, posing a significant threat until their opponents were rescued by Yuki Tsukumo, a special-grade sorcerer. In addition to their combat prowess, Uraume exhibits exceptional culinary skills, particularly in catering to both humans and curses. Their talent in cooking, acknowledged by Sukuna himself, earned them a place at his side, given Su kuna’s appetite for human fleshed

Cursed Energy Manipulation:

Uraume possesses an exceptionally high level of cursed energy and demonstrates mastery in controlling it. They have elite finesse in using their innate technique and can even convert cursed energy into positive energy, a rare skill among sorcerers. Uraume can also reinforce their body with cursed energy, using it to strengthen their hands. This allowed them to partially block attacks like Choso’s Piercing Blood and effortlessly deflect Momo Nishimiya’s Wind Scythe.

Innate Technique:

Uraume’s innate technique, known as Ice Formation, grants them the ability to create and manipulate ice. They can generate ice of varying sizes and shapes, showcasing versatility and precision in its use.

Frost Calm (Shimonagi):

Uraume releases a chilling mist from their mouth, which quickly materializes into thick ice columns, entrapping their opponent. This technique is particularly effective against groups, instantly immobilizing multiple targets.

By covering their hand in frost and touching the ground, Uraume can create a multitude of spiked ice shards that float and move through the air telekinetically. These shards freeze targets upon impact and rain down as sharpened icicles, making it a deadly attack capable of subduing multiple enemies at once.

Reverse Cursed Technique (Hanten Jutsushiki):

Uraume has the ability to produce positive energy effortlessly. They demonstrated this by regenerating the flesh of their palm after it was pierced by Choso’s Piercing Blood.
